There’s something truly enchanting about a winter wedding at Hackness Grange, and Melissa & Andy’s December 2024 celebration was no exception. Despite the unpredictable British weather, their day was filled with love, laughter, and breathtaking moments that I had the honour of capturing as their wedding photographer at Hackness Grange.

 

 

A Stunning Venue for a Romantic Celebration


Nestled in the heart of the North Yorkshire countryside, Hackness Grange Hotel is a dream venue for couples seeking a picturesque and elegant setting. As a preferred wedding photographer and Friend of Hackness Grange, I’ve had the privilege of working at this stunning venue numerous times, and each wedding I photograph here is truly unique.

Melissa & Andy chose Hackness Grange for its beautiful grounds, charming Georgian architecture, and serene lakeside views—a perfect backdrop for their winter wedding. Even with the occasional rain showers, we made the most of the venue’s gorgeous indoor and outdoor spaces, capturing timeless photos filled with warmth and joy.

 

 

A Love-Filled Day Despite the Rain


Winter weddings always come with a touch of unpredictability, and Melissa & Andy’s big day was no exception. The weather may have kept us on our toes, but the breaks in the clouds allowed us to capture some truly magical moments. With the soft winter light filtering through, their couple portraits in the gardens and by the lake were nothing short of spectacular.

The ceremony itself was a heartfelt affair, held in Hackness Grange’s elegant Garden Room, which provided a romantic and intimate setting. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, Melissa & Andy exchanged vows with a breathtaking view of the gardens behind them.

 

 

An Unforgettable Celebration


After the ceremony, guests enjoyed a warm and inviting reception in the Derwent Room, where twinkling fairy lights and rustic winter decor set the scene for a truly cozy and festive celebration. From emotional speeches to a packed dance floor, every moment was filled with joy and love.

One of my favourite highlights of the day was capturing Melissa & Andy’s first dance under the soft glow of candlelight, a truly magical scene that perfectly reflected the romance of their winter wedding.
